It Adds Up

In the article "It adds up," by Jennifer Loviglio, a parent is concerned about children these days needing to always be up to date with current technology. I also believe that this could be a problem. New technology is constantly coming out, making things easier to do -like the example with the child's graphing calculator. New technologies are a great benefit to society. The problem, though, is that, not only kids, but everyone needs to keep up with all of this new technology, and this can be quite costly. Although there may be no solution to needing to be up to date with technology, knowing what is necessary is important, and you don't always have to buy the most expensive equippment, so this is a possible solution to this costly problem.

It is true that not only children but adults feel they need to be up to date with the current technology. A very obvious disadvantage would be the large amount of money spent in order to keep up with the technology of society. Technology does make our daily activities easier to get done. However, in order to be able to use this technology we take the risks of paying the large costs for these advantages. With these technological advances continuously coming out people feel the pressure to keep up, with the fear of falling behind.
